From Madan Kataria with love and laughter

Dr. Madan Kataria has written and posted the following article in the international website of Laughter Yoga.  In gratitude to the laughter guru for having conducted the first-ever Certified Laughter Yoga Leaders Training here in our country, I am giving way to his article, to enable our kababayans to read Dr. Kataria’s writing:

Dr. Madan Kataria and his wife, Madhuri visited the Philippines to conduct a series of programs about Laughter Yoga. Certified Laughter Yoga teacher Elvie Punzalan-Estavillo organized a series of public seminars, two-day laughter leader training course, and some media interviews. Their very first meeting was at the office of The Philippine STAR, which has been featuring articles about Laughter Yoga regularly in the last two years. It has been playing a very important role in spreading the Laughter Yoga movement in the Philippines. Dr. Kataria met STAR CEO Miguel Belmonte.  Eight people from The Philippine STAR participated in a two-day training and they have made plans to implement Laughter Yoga in their offices and communities.

Last November 19, Elvie organized a public seminar with the help and support of Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte. Dr. Kataria, Madhuri and Elvie conducted the public seminar and led a group of people through exercises for nearly 30 minutes. That day, Madhuri’s birthday was celebrated and she was given the royal treatment by our host Elvie. We had a great dinner with some music in the evening.

November 20 was the first day of the Certified Laughter Yoga Leader Training. There were more than 45 participants from different fields like the Senior Citizens Association, IT professionals, schoolteachers, doctors, nuns, physical therapists, and businessmen. The morning session was great and everybody was energized and blasting with laughter.  They practiced among themselves and memorized the five points about Laughter Yoga.

This is a great group and already they are making commitments to open social laughter clubs. Last year, they opened Laughter Clubs in senior centers, schools, colleges, and universities and in the business world. There is already a request for a formation of an association. Also, there are plans for a CLYT training in the future and a Laughter Yoga conference in the Philippines. Thanks to the hard work of Laughter Yoga professor Elvie, who worked for nearly two years before we could come to Philippines. Keep laughing!  When you laugh, you change, and when you change, the whole world changes. Ha Ha Ha !!!

Love, Dr. Kataria.
