One-of-a-kind food tour at BGC

MANILA, Philippines -For many city dwellers, lack of space can be choking.  But there is a place in the burgeoning City of Taguig where home goes beyond the confines of the house, offering so much more than the elemental need for shelter.  It is a place where home life stretches to over 240 hectares of urban development; a home where a pulsating live-work-play lifestyle can be had completely.  Like its home city of Taguig, it also has the character of a premier city — strategically located, with a sense of place, a city that works and yet has soul: Bonifacio Global City (BGC).

A balanced mixed-use district of residential, office, and commercial establishments,  its road network is intelligently planned and well-constructed, the traffic system efficiently managed, while the wide pedestrian lanes and sidewalks are made for residents to stroll along and feel at home.

At the center of this growing city is Bonifacio High Street, the Philippines’ first-ever main street retail concept. From the simple to the finest dining outlets that satisfy any appetite; specialty shops that attract and inspire; event venues for a sundry of themes; the gamut of rest-and-recreation offerings of spas and saloons, public parks, coffee shops and bars; even sports and fitness possibilities like running, biking, and football  — BGC has so much to offer.

Completing the unique character of BGC is the mingling of arts and science. With the Bonifacio Arts Foundation Inc. at the helm, the country’s first world-class science museum, The Mind Museum, opened this year. Close by are public parks such as Terra 28th, a play park, and Track 30th, a fitness park filled with art installations by brilliant contemporary artists.

The latest happening in BGC is a one-of-a-kind food tour of the city, aptly called “BGC Eats.” BGC Eats aims to take guests on a unique culinary expedition and explore the various establishments that started in the 240-hectare urban development of BGC.

Heading the BGC Eats Tour is JJ Yulo, co-founder of the popular Pinoy Eats World.  The food tour happens every weekend starting June 29.  It is open to the public and interested parties may claim tickets two ways: Shop and Claim—two free tickets will be given for every purchase worth P 1,500 (single or accumulated receipts) from retail stores or restaurants at the following establishments: Bonifacio High Street, The Fort Entertainment Center, Crossroads, Bonifacio Stopover, One & Two Parkade, and The Mind Museum.  Purchase receipts should be from June 24 to July 21.  Claimants can only get a maximum of two tickets per day.  Tickets can be claimed at the Bonifacio High Street Central Concierge (inside C1 building) from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily until July 20.  Claimants can choose from the following tour dates at the Bonifacio High Street Central Concierge: June 29, July 6, 13, and 20.
