Stay cool with Nescafe 'samalamig'

MANILA, Philippines – Just as varied as Filipinos enjoy their warm cup of Nescafe Classic, there are also many ice-cold ways in which they can enjoy their favorite beverage. Samalamig or iced concoctions, after all, are the Pinoys’ beverage of choice especially during the hot summer months.

Nescafe Classic shares several samalamig recipes that you can easily prepare and enjoy this summer.

Go, go sago!

Dissolve 1 tbsp. Nescafe Classic, 1 tbsp. Coffee- Mate, and 2 tbsps. sugar in 1/2 cup of hot water.   Pour 1/2 cup cold water. Add 1/4 cup cooked sago and 1/4 cup cooked gulaman. Mix well then add ice. Makes 3 servings.

Coffee  Banana Cooler

Combine and blend together 2 tbsps. Nescafe Classic, 1 piece banana lacatan, 2 tbsps. sweetened cocoa, 1/2 cup water, 1/4 cup condensed milk and shaved ice in a blender. Makes 2 servings.

Black Coffee Cooler

Combine 1 liter water, 1/2 cup Nescafe Classic and 1/2 cup sugar in a pitcher. Serve with ice. Make eight to 10 servings.

Coffee Nut Cream

Blend together 2 cups water, 10 pcs. peanut-flavored chocolate, 3 tbsps. Nescafe Classic, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup Bear Brand powdered milk and crushed ice in a blender. Makes six servings.

Wow man gulaman!

Combine 1 tbsp. Nescafe Classic, 2 tbspS. Coffee-Mate, 2 tbsps. sugar, 1 cup cold water and 1 drop green buko pandan flavoring in a glass. Mix well. Add ice and 2 tbsps. cubed gulaman. Serve immediately. Makes one to two servings.

Chocofee

Combine 1 tbsp. Nescafe Classic, 1 Milo 20-g. sachet, 1 tbsp. Coffee-Mate, 1 tbsp. sugar and 1 cup cold water in a tightly covered container. Shake well. Pour in a glass and serve with ice. Makes one to two servings.

Coffee & Tea Blast

Combine 1 tbsp. Nescafe Classic, 1 to 2 tbsps. Nestea Iced Tea Lemon, 1 cup cold water and 1/2 tsp. red food coloring in a tightly covered container. Shake well. Pour in a glass and serve with ice. Makes one to two servings.

Milky Coffee Mania

Combine 1 tbsp. Nescafe Classic, 1/4 cup evaporated milk, 2 tbsps. sugar and 1 cup water in a tightly covered container. Shake well. Pour in a glass and serve with ice and top with toasted pinipig if desired. Makes one to two servings.
