KidZania among CNN’s top 10 best franchises for travelers

Kidzania is a unique indoor play city that allows children aged 3 to 14 to play and learn about different careers: Here, children are learning about human anatomy as they play doctors and nurses.

MANILA, Philippines - KidZania, the global leader in children’s edutainment, has made it to CNN’s Top 10 Best Franchises for Travelers list, joining the ranks of other leading global brands such as 7-Eleven, McDonald’s, Starbucks, KFC and Dunkin’ Donuts.

The CNN Travel staff said, “Seeing kids freak out about their paycheck” is what they love about KidZania, a first-of-its-kind indoor play city and edutainment center that allows children aged 3 to 14 to play and learn about different careers, the inner workings of a city, and the concept of managing money through KidZos, a currency they can use to purchase goods and services.

“We are very proud and honored that CNN has named KidZania as one of the brands most recognized and trusted by travelers from all around the world,” said Maricel Pangilinan-Arenas, president and CEO of Play Innovations Inc. “We’re very excited for our kababayans to experience this globally known brand when we launch next year.”

At the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, construction is underway to build KidZania Manila, a P1 billion kid-sized city that is expected to cater to more than 600,000 visitors annually when it opens in November 2014.

At KidZania, children can freely explore a world their size and choose from over 100 role-playing activities in different establishments through hyperreal role-play.

To do this, KidZania incorporates real-world brands and partners with businesses to bring to life a hyper-real metropolis. Paying incredible attention to detail — from paved roads and storefronts to kid-sized buses and cars, the edutainment center provides children with an authentic experience that is interactive, immersive, and memorable.
