MANILA, Philippines - Because of the positive reviews "Heneral Luna" is getting, the people who worked behind the historical biopic decided to conduct a fan art contest to show their appreciation for the good feedback from the fans.

More than a hundred participants submitted their artworks, but Edwin Paguia, a 21-year-old illustrator bagged the first prize.

Paguia explains on her post that that Heneral Luna is shaded with red on chest to signify his bravery while shaded blue on his head to emulate the fact that he has put the country's sovereignty first before himself. The torn flag symbolizes the traitors who choose their own interests over our country. The blue soldiers on the other hand are those who are willing to die for freedom, while the big blindfolded soldier epitomizes the traitors blinded by their personal interests.

The announcement was made by the team through their official Facebook account.
