‘The Fault in Our Stars’ Filipino edition now available at National Book Store

MANILA, Philippines - In time for its movie adaptation, National Book Store releases the Filipino edition of John Green’s bestselling and award-winning young adult novel, The Fault in Our Stars.

Hailed as the number one fiction book of the year in 2012 and described as “genius” by Time magazine, The Fault in Our Stars tells the simple yet complicated love story of Hazel and Augustus, who are both cancer patients. Hazel’s life has been terminal despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that extended her life a few more years. Things change when she finally meets Augustus at a Cancer Kid support group. Together, their lives are completely rewritten.

The Fault in Our Stars has been translated into different languages including Dutch, German, Spanish, French, Swedish, Danish, Icelandic, Hebrew, Chinese and Portuguese.

Kicking off with The Fault in Our Stars, National Book Store has started to translate bestselling titles into Filipino to cater to more readers around the country. “We thought it was the best choice as our first translated work since it has been a consistent bestseller, and John Green has really touched the lives of many Filipino readers,” says Xandra Ramos-Padilla, National Book Store’s purchasing director.

The Filipino edition of John Green’s novel is translated by journalist and professor Danton Remoto.
