Elections: Decoding the planets

I love watching the recent string of fairy tales recreated in sophisticated and high-tech animation movies, or movies of comic strip heroes battling it out in futuristic ways. I love seeing archetypes incorporated into the story lines with the underlying ancient story of the fight between the forces of light and darkness, between the hero/heroine and the Dark Lord who seeks dominion and control. It is the dualistic fight between the higher and the lower, between the positive force of love that wins above fear and control at the end of the stories.

Movies are the “reel-illusions” of entertainment that we have to shake off when we leave the movie house. It is very similar to our lives, the “real-illusion” where we also need to take off the veils that block the true nature of our humanity.

From a higher level of consciousness today, there are those who believe everything is a dream, that life is a dream.  What is the illusion? That what we see in the material world is reality. Our ego desires say why we should pursue power, money, sex and physical beauty, be aggressive and go to war etc., all which have become totally unsustainable. These choices are really brought about by the veils that hide us from the spiritual truths. Even from a scientific level, quantum physics defines that all of the material world is a lower vibration of an energy that begins from an unseen world. Science has data showing how this consciousness that supports thought creates the kind of reality we are in or wish to be in.

Just open the TV and see the news nightly. We are in for major shake ups to wake up. This year of 2016 will mark some of the biggest changes in our lifetime. The news alone reflects the bizarre, crazy madness and chaos happening and we will all feel that the world is falling apart. Well it is…being broken at the seams of our illusions, our passivity and refusal to see things from a higher, more spiritual perspective.

Everything happening inside us is projected out in our world (“As above, so below. As within, so without”). Tomorrow, we are going to go out to elect the next leaders of our land. We do so under really significant planetarial alignments that will affect the process. Allow me to give you a “quickie” summary of the view from the astrological perspective that suggests destiny directions that can guide our free will choices. Forgive me as this may sound like jargon to many but I will try to give a very simplified explanation.

There are five, yes, five planets (Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto) moving in retrograde motion. These five planets are not in normal speed but are moving backward and slower. They create major stressors. Retrograde planets force us to internalize the energies they represent, to review and assess, to keep inside and reflect on things so changes can be instituted when the planets move forward. Suffice it to say that because the election is happening during this period, whoever may win the elections will not stay there as planned. Whoever rises may not remain as there will be intense changes. This is the pattern. (Similarly, former President Marcos called the snap elections during a Mercury retrograde period and look what happened.) Retrogrades operate through multiple dimensions at the same time — past, present, future, personal and societal. So, there are destiny angles being triggered now.

We have a wild cocktail of global energetic influences (whether we look at the western or eastern Vedic astrology, or even numerology and esoteric symbolisms profoundly seen in the Bible’s Book of Revelations). May’s banner planet is Mars retrograde. It represents anger, war, aggression, male aggression, violence and fear. There is a burning frustration with affairs not able to move forward with so many planets retrograde. An inner anger is building deep inside, from any side of the election grouping you may be coming from.

Mercury retrograde puts mental confusion in the picture. This planet’s movement stops at a 29-degree position (a degree of cathartic endings) and conjuncts Saturn in the sign of Scorpio (passionate intensity, catharsis and deep transformation) before moving back. Internalized anger builds and becomes more intense. Saturn (planet of pain, discipline, breaking up of old structures that need to change, and building of new structures) comes next to Mars (war, aggression) with the power-booster solar eclipse happens in a position conjuncting Neptune (secrets, deceptions, denials). Eclipses are intensely powerful as this pushes things out in the open for maximum change to move forward. Jupiter (spirituality) conjunction at 29 degrees (again, this significant “ending” degree) to an eastern star called Rahu, symbolically the head of the dragon, which represents fear. Jupiter is presently in Leo, which rules ego and leadership. Meanwhile, Pluto — planet of the subconscious, rebirth and power — is deep diving for societal changes to happen.

We have scheduled elections during this time — perhaps pre-destined, too, in a very intense time of the world that will force breakthroughs of consciousness, painfully bring out our value systems and define our understanding and narrowing down our decisions to come from only these two choices: Do we walk the soul’s spiritual path consciously in our physical bodies? Or is the Ego understanding of the physical, our only reality? The retrograde planets now is about the Universe directing the course of everything…forcing our souls to come forth beyond the Ego’s control. And the Ego-like, the spoilt brat it is, is fighting tooth and nail to keep its dominance in our world today.

We need to focus on the values the political personalities carry. The political drama focused on grievance politics, for those who are unconscious, will just play out. Our politics have been running on threat, on self-centered and corrupt deceptions masking as the need for change with really no concern for the smaller people. The real wisdom in the process is the control within ourselves as we vote. To stand for our values, to choose the higher not the lower. To stand for change without the force of anger or fearfully bowing to the will of autocratic egos. To know that different levels of consciousness will arise and that to create true transformation, we must rise to the higher level. To change corruption through institutional reforms for quality agencies to emerge. To find that person, group and collective with a vision for the higher to bring these changes forward. To rely on solid experience, ethical leadership and greatness of character that embrace hard work and not be moved by explosive promises. To work that our poor, our community and our earth becomes the beneficiaries of the positive change as we nation-build.

Once we can get through this election period and through the frenzy of the next couple of months, it is with the hope and prayer that many, many more Filipinos can awaken to step out of their own personal comfort zones and work in collaboration to bring about real positive change.

The choices of our leaders will merely be a reflection of who we are as a people — laid out there, bare. Our shadow selves projected out there for all to see.

This is our opportunity to see ourselves as we are, to take responsibility to choose from our values and hope that the Filipinos are awake. May the will of the Filipino people be an awakened one. And this wish is beyond the election period of this week, for I maintain, with an eye on encoding the messages of the celestial bodies, that which seems will not be.

Whoever rises will not remain and intense delays and changes will still happen in the short term. Whoever may win the elections will not stay there as planned for the long term. This is the pattern.
