Japanese yoga teacher at ECHOyoga

KPJAYI-certified Mysore teacher Akiko Tsugawa.

MANILA, Philippines - What makes a Japanese fall in love with the Indian tradition? Yoga is the answer for Akiko Tsugawa, a KPJAYI-certified Mysore teacher. This means she has been certified by the Ashtanga yoga traditional institute of KPJAYI (Sri K Pattabhi Jois Ashtangayoga Institute) in Mysore, India.

For the whole month of February, yoga beginners and first timers can join the class where Aki teaches the traditional way yoga sequence is taught. In today’s gym-yoga practice, traditional ways of how yoga is done are few and far between. At ECHOyoga Shala, this tradition is honored, even as other regular classes as vinyasa, guided ashtanga and ashtanga basics are also offered.

Body-Energy Work sessions (acupuncture, chiropractor, reflexology, ventosa and foot reflexology), as well as soul destiny readings and counseling sessions are all available by appointment.

(ECHOyoga Shala is located at the 3/F, Steps Dance Academy Building, 8645 Kalayaan Ave., Barangay Poblacion, Makati City (behind Rockwell). For more information, visit www.echoyoga.net, call 956-7119, 0906-5063958 or e-mail info@echoyoga.net.)
