MANILA, Philippines - The Empire VIP Club at the Solaire Resort and Casino formally opened its doors to 500 guests recently. Vice President Jejomar Binay was the guest of honor during the formal ribbon-cutting ceremonies and joined the rest of the guests at the majestic Solaire Grand Ballroom for dinner.

The Empire VIP Club is managed by the Empire Entertainment Group, a consortium of veteran gaming investors from Macau and Hong Kong, headed by Cliff Cheong and Kingston Choi.

Cheong is the president of the Macau-Taiwan-Portugal Chamber of Commerce. He has investment in various VIP-gaming businesses in Macau and other parts of Asia.

Choi is the foreign shareholder of the Grande Island Resort in Subic Bay and was the chairperson of Tai Fat Hong, one of the top real property agency networks with 48 offices in Hong Kong. He has extensive investment network in the VIP gaming sector in selected casinos in Southeast Asia.

Local and foreign VIPs from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea witnessed the traditional lion dance and were treated to cocktails and dinner fit for an emperor. Some of the country’s top performers were invited for the evening’s entertainment numbers. Solenn Heussaff did the opening number, Richard Poon serenaded the guests with his English and Mandarin songs, Karylle and Vina Morales were just heavenly with their respective solo song numbers.

Solaire Resort and Casino’s chief operating officer Michael French graced the auspicious occasion with Lorraine Koo Mann Loo, VP for business development and VIP services and Dennis Andreaci, SVP for gaming.
