It’s a pleasure to be back in the Philippines!”
The English rock band You Me At Six set the stage ablaze with a fiery live performance last July 6 at the Skydome SM North EDSA for their Truth Decay Tour Philippines 2023.
As the lights dimmed, the stage and everything was set, and the crowd exploded into cheers and applause, ready to stampede into the heart-pounding world of You Me at Six.
They first performed in Manila as the headliners for Pulp Live World’s Bazooka Rocks 3 festival in 2014, and once again lit the stage on fire. You Me at Six emerged from the shadows, like rock stars conjured from a fan’s wildest dreams. Kicking off the night with the song Deep Cuts from their latest album “Truth Decay,” You Me At Six instantly captivated the audience with their electrifying energy and infectious melodies. Lead vocalist Josh Franceschi commanded the stage, captivating the crowd with his dynamic stage presence and powerhouse vocals. The shockwaves of power chords were coursing through everyone’s veins. The crowd erupted into a symphony of cheers and screams, drowning out the music for a split second. It was the kind of deafening roar that could make your eardrums tingle with excitement. Each strum of the guitar and beat of the drum was a direct line connecting every fan’s heart to the melody.
The band’s musical virtuosity shined through, seamlessly blending thunderous choruses, emotional ballads, and everything in between. But it wasn’t just a one-sided performance. The fans became an integral part of the experience, morphing into a united chorus of voices. Every lyric was sung with passion, harmonizing perfectly with the band’s mesmerizing vocals. Every song had everyone head-banging and jumping, with bodies leaping and swaying in perfect sync.
The band flawlessly transitioned from one fan favorite to another, treating the audience to a nostalgic journey through their discography. Franceschi took a minute in between songs to thank the Filipino fans. “We’ve established something tonight: you all have good singing voices,” he said.
As the night drew to a close, You Me At Six concluded their set with an encore performance of their song Beautiful Way. The crowd erupted into a deafening chorus of cheers, proving that the band had left an indelible mark on their Filipino fans. The Truth Decay Tour Philippines 2023 ended with a meet-and-greet for all the fans who came to their show.
