President Marcos: Play Philippines anthem, Asean song at events

MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has issued an order requiring all government offices to integrate the playing of the official music videos of ‘Lupang Hinirang’ and of the ASEAN 2026 theme song after flag ceremonies and during official government events.

Official music videos of Lupang Hinirang and the ASEAN 2026 song “One Vision, One Ocean” have been produced “to foster patriotism, strengthen regional solidarity and amplify the Philippines’ leadership and vision as ASEAN Chair in 2026,” Memorandum Circular 117, published in the Official Gazette on April 28, said.

The order is effective during the period of the Philippines’ chairship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) 48th Summit this year.

The regional event will be held from May 7 to 8 in Cebu.

Delegations are expected to be concentrated in Lapu-Lapu City, where key summit activities will take place, including meetings at the newly constructed Mactan Expo in Mactan Newtown.

As part of security measures, the Presidential Security Command will conduct maritime operations from May 1 to 9 in the waters of Mactan, Cebu.
