Price Tracker: Oil, fuel monitor for Apr. 24
MANILA, Philippines — Another rollback is already shaping up next week, though much smaller than the last two.
The Department of Energy's four-day oil monitor, reported diesel may fall by P1.70 to P1.90 per liter, gasoline by P1.10 to P1.30, and kerosene by P1.50 to P1.70.
The government is also keeping an eye on supply security. The DOE said Thursday, April 23 that it held a high-level bilateral dialogue with Malaysia on energy security and fuel-market volatility.
The agency also clarified that a previously announced diesel shipment tied to state owned Philippine National Oil Company's exploration unit was a commercial deal with Vitol Asia's Singapore office, not a government-to-government purchase.
The Energy Regulatory Commission, meanwhile, ordered power distributor Meralco to accelerate a P19.96-billion refund, with the remaining P14.17 billion to be returned over 12 months instead of 36, helping soften higher power costs from global oil pressure.
