Price Tracker: Oil, fuel monitor for Apr. 10
MANILA, Philippines — Pump prices remained near multiyear highs on Friday, April 10, even as the outlook for next week began to improve in the wake of a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
For now, the government is treating the reprieve as a window rather than a resolution. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said the Philippines would use the ceasefire period to build up petroleum supply.
The economic damage, meanwhile, is becoming harder to contain. March inflation accelerated to 4.1%, breaching the central bank’s 2% to 4% target.
