MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos will be opening Malacañang to performing artists this month for the first ever “Konsyerto sa Palasyo (KSP),” which aims to highlight the talents of the Philippines’ creative industry while honoring the sacrifices of the military.

KSP is a concert series to be held in various locations inside Malacañang to promote the country’s “rich culture and world class talent in the performing arts,” according to a statement released by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) yesterday.

In a video message, Marcos cited the need to acknowledge the talents of performing artists.

“Filipinos are naturally talented. Creativity runs in their blood. He shines on his stage anywhere in the world,” the President said in Filipino.

”Let us recognize and support them because every beginning brings a promise. This is our gift to arts and culture. This is for every Filipino performer. This is the Konsyerto sa Palasyo,” he added.

The first concert titled “Konsyerto sa Palasyo: Awit ng Magiting” will be held on April 22 at 6:30 p.m. and will recognize the armed forces for their “sacrifices in maintaining the nation’s sovereignty, peace and security.”

Soldiers and their families will be the guest audiences for the event, which the PCO said would feature the country’s “best up and coming artists.”

Performers from Cebu, Ilocos Norte, Quezon, Cavite, Iloilo, Metro Manila and Davao will showcase their talents during the “Awit ng Magiting” concert.
