Marcos appoints two new OPS execs

MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has appointed two new officials, including his head writer during the 2022 presidential race, to the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS).
In a statement, the OPS said Cherbett Karen Maralit and Francisco Rodriguez III have been named press undersecretary and assistant secretary, respectively.
Maralit is the former chief of staff of former Senate minority leader and incumbent Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile and of Senate Pro Tempore Loren Legarda.

He was also the head writer of Marcos’ traditional media team during the May 9 presidential elections.
Maralit and Rodriguez have taken their oath of office before Marcos, photos released by the OPS yesterday showed.
The OPS is the government’s lead communication arm. It has eight undersecretaries and seven assistant secretaries, according to the agency’s website.
