Online reactivation of voter’s registration ends in July  

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has set an earlier deadline for the online reactivation of registration for those intending to vote in the December 2022 barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections.

In a resolution, the Comelec announced that all online applications for reactivation of voter’s registration shall be received by the Office of the Election Officer (OEO) through its official email address not later than 5 p.m. of July 19, 2022.

Online applications include those for reactivation; reactivation with the transfer of registration within or correction of entries; reactivation with transfer within and correction of entries, and reactivation with updating of records of senior citizens and persons with disabilities or PWDs.

But the poll body will entertain all other types of voter registration applications from July 4 to 23.

Types of voter registration applications are registration, transfer, change/corrections of entries in the registration records, reactivation of registration records, inclusion of registration records and reinstatement of name in the list of voters, and transfer of registration records from foreign post to local.

Application for updating of records of PWDs, seniors, members of Indigenous Peoples (IPs) or Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs), and other members of vulnerable sectors may also be filed during the three-week registration period.

“(These applications) shall be personally filed at the Office of the Election Officer of the city/municipality, where the applicant resides, during office hours, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Mondays to Saturdays, including holidays, from July 4, 2022 to July 23, 2022,” the Comelec noted.

The Comelec has also ordered all OEOs to conduct satellite registration activities to ensure wider participation of voters during the December barangay and SK polls.

According to the Comelec, satellite registration activities may be held in barangay halls/centers; public and private schools and universities; malls and commercial establishments; and other public and convenient places.

The Comelec further ordered exclusive special satellite registration activities for the youth, senior citizens, women, PWDs, and members of IPs and ICCs.
