MANILA, Philippines — A Cebu Pacific flight from Naga City en route to Metro Manila "had a runway excursion" Tuesday morning, the airline said in an advisory.

According to Cebu Pacific, Flight DG 6112 arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 11:45 a.m. that morning when the accident took place. The aircraft eventually had to be towed from the runway a little after 1 p.m.

"All 42 passengers and four crew safely deplaned with no reported injuries. All the affected passengers have been assisted accordingly and have left the airport," the airline company said in a tweet.

"We are working on normalizing our operations as soon as possible. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and we thank you for your kind understanding."

In a message to reporters, the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group also confirmed nobody was hurt.

"No reported injuries from 42 passengers," it said.

Several flights have since been put on hold or diverted to Clark due to the incident.

"Our immediate priority is to ensure the safety of our passengers and crew aboard the flight," Cebu Pacific said immediately after the accident was reported. — Franco Luna
