MANILA, Philippines — From Olympic Gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz to 12 women who uplift lives and livelihoods, PeopleAsia’s “Women of Style & Substance” take centerstage in the magazine’s latest double-cover issue.

Leading this year’s list is special awardee Hidilyn Diaz, the country’s first Olympic gold medalist. To honor Hidilyn and her feat, PeopleAsia’s new issue comes with a special gold-stamped solo cover.

On the flip cover are “Women of Style & Substance” 2021 awardees who proved that not even a pandemic can stop them from soaring.

Among them are Justice Undersecretary Emmeline Aglipay Villar, who is on a crusade against online sexual abuse of children; Biñan Rep. Len Alonte Naguiat, who redefines public service with her swift and steady response to the pandemic; and Marikina Rep. Stella Quimbo, who uses her training as an economist to craft timely legislation, such as the Accelerated Recovery and Investments Stimulus for the Economy (ARISE) Bill.

Also on this year’s list is Maginhawa Community Pantry founder Ana Patricia Non, whose breakthrough advocacy model inspired the creation of more than 6,000 other community pantries nationwide.
