MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos can expect fair weather across the country on Monday after consecutive days of rains brought by tropical cyclones and southwest monsoon.
This is due to the weakened effects of the southwest monsoon or habagat, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
The weakened southwest monsoon is only affecting Northern Luzon. Residents of the area may experience scattered rainshowers.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms.
The fair weather in most parts of the country comes after weeks of cloudy and rainy weather due to the southwest monsoon boosted by Severe Tropical Storm Nimfa and Tropical Depression Marilyn.
Thanks to monsoon rains, the water level at Angat Dam—Metro Manila’s main water source—increase to 191.56 meters from 157 meters in July.
The state weather bureau is not monitoring any weather disturbance around the Philippine Area of Responsibility. — Gaea Katreena Cabico
