MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has reportedly appointed Bases Conversion and Development Authority chief Vince Dizon as presidential adviser for flagship programs and projects.

ABS-CBN News reported that Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea confirmed Dizon's confirmation.

Dizon is currently the president and CEO of BCDA, a state-run development corporation. BCDA is currently on top of the promotion of New Clark City as the country’s first smart, green and sustainable metropolis.

Administrative Order 109, signed on 1994, created the Presidential Committee on Flagship Programs and Projects.

The order cited the “critical need for a more focused and highly selective intervention along very strategic areas to catalyze the economic surge and optimize available resources."

It also highlighted the significance of "efficient and timely implementation of the flagship programs and projects."

According to his profile at the BCDA website, Dizon previously served as a consultant to House Speaker Alan Cayetano (Taguig) when the lawmaker was a senator.

He also sat as undersecretary for political affairs of the Office of the President and chief of staff of the office of former Sen. Edgardo Angara. — Kristine Joy Patag
