MANILA, Philippines — The Senate will no longer investigate the man who surfaced and claimed to be “Bikoy”—the individual who linked several relatives of President Rodrigo Duterte to the illegal drug trade.
Sen. Panfilo Lacson, chair of the public order and dangerous drugs panel, made the announcement Wednesday.
This, after Senate President Vicente Sotto III said that Peter Joemel Advincula was the same person who tagged former President Benigno Aquino and some officials of the previous administration to illegal drug activities in 2016.
“Senate President Sotto said it all. We are now recalling the letter of invitation sent to Advincula yesterday. Notices will be sent out for the cancellation of the committee hearing on Friday. Enough of this nonsense,” Lacson said in a tweet.

He added: “The problem with asking Bikoy who are the people behind him is if we will believe him.”
Lacson earlier said his panel could schedule a hearing if Advincula could present a sworn statement and evidence to support his accusations. — Gaea Katreena Cabico
