Duterte attends funeral for Honeylet’s dad

The President was able to catch up with the burial of Vicente Avanceña, 71, who died last week of illness due to old age.

DAVAO CITY, Philippines  —  President Duterte yesterday attended the funeral of the father of his partner, Cielito “Honeylet” Avanceña, who was buried at the Davao Memorial Park. 

The President was able to catch up with the burial of Vicente Avanceña, 71, who died last week of illness due to old age. 

The President arrived here late Thursday night on the eve of the elder Avanceña’s funeral and attended the wake at the Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes along Camus Street.

The President caught up with the funeral at 3:30 p.m. yesterday before he proceeded to attend the inauguration of the Gaisano Grand Citygate Mall at around 5:30 p.m., which was supposed to open at 1:30 p.m. as earlier announced to mall goers.  

Meanwhile,  the President expressed his love anew for Avancena, whom he calls his “true love.”

“She (Honeylet) is already my true love,” the President said at the Gaisano inauguration.

The President and Avanceña, who have a 13-year old daughter Veronica or more known as Kitty, have been together for over 20 years.

Duterte was also all praises  for the entrepreneurial spirit of Avancena who is a businesswoman on her own right.
