Duterte OKs 18 school bills, 6 broadcast franchises
Six new laws involved the separation of educational institutions and the establishment of independent ones.

MANILA, Philippines — President Duterte has signed into law 18 local school bills and six measures granting or extending the broadcast franchises of six entities. 

Four of the laws established new educational institutions, namely the Justice Eliezer R. delos Santos High School and Bagbaguin National High School, both in Valenzuela City; the Depase National High school in Zamboanga del Sur and the National Science and Mathematics High School in Malabon. 

Six new laws involved the separation of educational institutions and the establishment of independent ones.

The Tublay School of Home Industries Extension in Benguet will be separated from the Tublay School of Home Industries Main and will be converted into the Tublay National Trade High School.

Camalog National High School Malagnat Extension in Kalinga will be separated from Camalog National High School and will be renamed as Malagnat National High School.

The Rizal National School of Arts and Trades-Santor Extension in Kalinga will be separated from its main campus and will be known as Santor National High School.

The Bokod National High School-Daklan Extension in Benguet will be separated from its mother campus and will be converted into the Daklan National High School.

The Governor Benjamin Leguiab Sr. Memorial National High school-Sacpil Annex in Apayao will also be separated from its main campus and will be renamed Sacpil National High School.

Conner Central National High School-Guina-Ang Annex in Apayao will be independent from its mother institution and will be converting into Guina-Ang National High School.

The President also signed a measure amending the law that established Northern Iloilo State University by integrating Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College in Estancia, the Barotac Viejo Campus in Barotac Viejo, Ajuy Polytechnic College in Ajuy, Batad Polytechnic College in Batad, Concepcion Polytechnic College, Lemery Polytechnic College and the Victorino Salcedo Polytechnic College in Sara.

Also enacted was a law converting Talisay City College in Cebu into Talisay City State College.

Duterte also signed measures amending the laws that formed the Compostela Valley State College, Surigao del Norte State University, Mountain Province State University, Iloilo State university of Science and Technology and the Cotabato State University.

Also signed into law were measures granting broadcast franchise to the Iloilo Baptist Church and the Pangasinan Gulf Waves Network Corp. The franchise allows them to construct, install, establish, operate and maintain radio and television broadcasting stations in the Philippines. 

The President also affixed his signature to measures renewing the franchise of Subic Broadcasting Corp., Filipinas Broadcasting Association, Beta Broadcasting System and Gateway UHF Television Broadcasting Inc. for 25 years.
