MANILA, Philippines — One of the suspects in the fatal hazing of University of Santo Tomas (UST) law freshman Horacio ‘Atio’ Castillo III will return to Manila today, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said last night.

Aguirre said the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Manila informed the Bureau of Immigration that Ralph Trangia, a member of the Aegis Juris fraternity, boarded Eva Air flight BR055 from the US bound for Taipei.

Trangia is expected to arrive in Manila before noon today aboard flight BR271.

“We will offer security if he asks for it,” Aguirre said in an interview with Aksyon5 last night.

TECO representative to Manila Gary Song Huann Lin confirmed Trangia’s return to Manila to National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr. during the National Day reception of Taiwan at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila last night.

Trangia left for Chicago via Taipei on Sept. 19, two days after Castillo’s body was taken to a Manila hospital where he was proclaimed dead.
