Warm week ahead — Pagasa

Helen Flores - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -  The state weather bureau yesterday continued to advise the public to drink plenty of water as hot temperatures will persist in the country in the next days.

Aldczar Aurelio, weather forecaster at the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), said the easterlies will continue to bring warm weather in the next three days.

He also advised people to avoid sun exposure between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

In Metro Manila, the temperature is expected to hit 35 degrees Celsius today until Wednesday.

In Baguio City, temperature will range from 25 to 26 degrees Celsius.

In Metro Cebu, the temperature will reach 32 degrees Celsius, while 34 degrees Celsius is expected in Metro Davao.

Meanwhile, PAGASA spotted yesterday a low-pressure area off the Pacific Ocean that may enter the country tomorrow (Tuesday) or on Wednesday.

Aurelio said the low-pressure area was spotted at 1,750 kilometers east of Mindanao as of 5 p.m. yesterday.

He said the weather system may intensify into a tropical cyclone.

Aurelio said they were looking at two tracks for the approaching weather disturbance, one is it may hit landmass of Visayas, while the other scenario is it may curve northeast away from the country.
