Robredo maintains lead over Marcos

MANILA, Philippines – Rep. Leni Robredo continues to maintain the gap between her and Sen. Bongbong Marcos in the vice presidential race, according to the partial and unofficial tally by the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting as of Tuesday morning.
As of 7:22 a.m., the Camarines Sur representative and Liberal Party (LP) bet has garnered 13,128,844. While her rival, the son of dictator Ferdinand Marcos, has already registered 13,047,864.
The difference between the two candidates totaled to only 80,980, a stark contrast to the figures over the presidential race, where PDP-Laban standard bearer Rodrigo Duterte has pulled away with 15,037,761 votes. The far second, LP bet Mar Roxas II, has only tallied 9,019,664.
It was only nine hours after the voting when Robredo started to overtake Marcos in the race. The two candidates have already chalked almost 13 million votes under their names when the former has started to show signs of gaining ground.
