MANILA, Philippines – Presidential candidates finished neck and neck in the latest nationwide survey conducted by the Standard Today.
Sen. Grace Poe led the survey with 26 percent of votes from 29 percent last month, followed by Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan’s standard bearer Davao City Mayor Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte with 24 percent from 20 percent ratings last month.
United Nationalist Alliance’s standard bearer Vice President Jejomar “Jojo” Binay landed on third place with 23 percent from 22 pecent last month while Liberal Party’s standard bearer Manuel “Mar” Roxas II came in close at the fourth spot with 22 percent.
Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago came behind the fifth spot with only 2 percent.
The latest Standard poll was held from February 24 to March 1, a week after the presidential debate. Its respondents said they are all sure of voting on May 9.
The Standard Today’s survey with 3,000 respondents from 79 provinces and 17 cities of Metro Manila, had a national margin error placed at at ±1.8 percent. Its margin of error for the Metro Manila results was recorded higher at ± 6 percent; while major geographic areas had a margin error of ±4 percent.
