MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Postal Corp. (PhlPost) has released two designs for the Year of the Monkey commemorative stamps, the Chinese zodiac sign next year.

Postmaster general Ma. Josefina de la Cruz said the Year of the Monkey stamps, measuring 4 cms x 3 cms, have been available at their Post Shop at the Manila Central Post Office since Dec. 1.

The stamp showing a close-up image of a monkey’s face is being sold for P10 each. They printed 55,000 copies of this stamp.

Another 55,000 copies showing the full image of the monkey were also printed and are being sold at P30 each.

Meanwhile, PhlPost issued 5,000 copies of the souvenir sheet that costs P80 each.

The Year of the Monkey will begin on Feb. 8, 2016 and end on Jan. 27, 2017.

It is said that those born in the Year of the Monkey possess great intellect and are usually good leaders.

Many of them also have good physical conditions.

These individuals are believed to be good in saving money and usually do not worry about food and clothing.

However, one of the obstructions to their success is their quick temper.

When it comes to family, those who are born in the Year of the Monkey are said to be considerate and thoughtful.
