MANILA, Philippines — State weather bureau PAGASA on Sunday said fair weather will prevail during the culminating meetings of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation in Manila.

PAGASA weather forecaster Shaira Nonot said no cyclones are expected to affect the country from Monday till Friday this week as world leaders gather to discuss trade, economy and other shared issues.

With the easterly winds affecting the eastern section of the archipelago, the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible isolated rains mostly due to localized thunderstorm or convection until Wednesday.

The weather bureau added that the easterlies, or winds from the east, are “warm” and the intense heat from its convective activity as well as its high moisture level contributes to the formation of localized thunderstorm clouds.

While no major disturbances are forecasted, PAGASA said that there are still one or two tropical cyclones anticipated to enter the country this month.

The weather bureau, meanwhile, did not issue any gale warning for fisherfolk.

Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the northeast to east that will prevail over Northern Luzon while its coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas.
