SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Philippines — Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., who is still contemplating on running for president in the 2016 elections, has finally apologized for the alleged injustices against political opponents brought about by the administration of his father, former President Ferdinand Marcos, whom the senator still claimed was the best president the country ever had.

All the surveys made since 2011 revealed that Marcos is still the best president of the country, the senator said in a press conference held at City Hall here last Saturday.

He even prodded his political opponents to try to bring him down by reminding the public of the alleged misdeeds and abuses committed against the Filipino people during his father’s term.

“That’s good, use all of these against me,” Marcos said.

The younger Marcos stressed that among the achievements of his father were the thousands and thousands of kilometers of quality roads built during the Marcos era.

He also cited the higher status of the Philippines then in the international community, as well as the millions of Marcos scholars and students who eventually graduated.

The 57-year-old senator said the agricultural policy during his father’s term made the country self-sufficient in rice, continuous power generation and the promotion of overseas Filipino workers that all started to empower the economy.
