MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Grace Poe and Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero confirmed that they have been invited by the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) in its meeting for the 2016 national elections on Tuesday night.

According to a report from GMA News, NPC spokesperson and Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian said that the members of the party will start the process of consultation during the meeting.

NPC acting president and Isabela Rep. Giorgidi Aggabao earlier said that Poe has already decided to run for president in the 2016 polls.

“From what I gathered, she has already fixed her mind on the presidency, and that won’t change. That is also true in the case of Sen. Chiz Escudero,” Aggabao said.

Aggabao also said that majority of the NPC's members are supportive of a possible tandem between Poe and Escudero.

However, both Poe and Escudero have not yet announced their plans for the 2016 elections.

On the other hand, Interior and Local Secretary Manuel "Mar" Roxas invited some of the members of the party in a meeting on Tuesday morning.

Roxas wanted to assure that the alliance between the LP and the NPC would remain intact for next year's national elections.
