PNP opens bank account for donations to slain SAF members' kin

The Philippine National Police has extended further help to the families of the 44 Special Action Force members who were killed last Sunday in an encounter with Muslim extremists by opening bank account for cash donations. 

MANILA, Philippines - In a bid to support the families of the 44 slain Special Action Force (SAF) members, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has opened a bank account for cash donations to the surviving kin of the casualties.

The PNP said the donations for the families of the late policemen may be deposited to the account "PNP Special Assistance Fund Account 1862-1027-77" of the Land Bank of the Philippines.

The SAF members were killed during an encounter with Muslim extremists in Mamasapano, Maguindanao last Sunday while serving a warrant of arrest against high profile terrorist Zulkifli bin Hir, also  known as Marwan.

Donors may contact via text message Police Chief Inspector Renante Pinuela of the PNP Directorate for Comptrollership at mobile number 09178576020 for the details of the donation.

The donations will be on top of benefits that will be given to the surviving kin of SAF casualties.
