MANILA, Philippines - Filipinos can take part in the Buwan ng Wika celebration this August by using the Filipino language when posting messages on their Facebook accounts, Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) chairman Virgilio Almario said Thursday.
“To those who are using Facebook, Twitter or other social networks, I am not prohibiting you from using the English language, but since we are celebrating Buwan ng Wika, it would be good to show our unity by using the Filipino language,” Almario, a National Artist for literature, said.
He said he believes that young Filipinos are at ease in using the national language.
