Day before Senate appearance, Napoles' health normal

MANILA, Philippines - A day before her appearance before the Senate pork barrel hearing, businesswoman Janet Napoles' medical condition remains normal, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Wednesday.
Senior Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac, PNP public infomation office chief, said Napoles' vital signs remain regular as of 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Napoles, the alleged brains behind the P10-billion pork barrel scam, is set to appear and be grilled at the Senate tomorrow, Nov. 7.
She is now detained at a police camp in Sta. Rosa, Laguna for serious illegal detention charges filed by her distant cousin and former employee Benhur Luy before the Makati City Court.
Weeks before her scheduled Senate appearance, Napoles had to be rushed to a hospital outside the police camp after she experienced vomiting and dizziness.
Physicians found stones in her ureter, the tube that carries urine from the kidney to the urinary bladder.
After getting some treatment for her condition, Napoles was brought back to the detention facility.
Sindac said Napoles received seven visitors on Tuesday, including three priests and two legal counsels, inside her detention cell at Fort Sto. Domingo.
Meanwhile, the PNP official said authorities will serve tuyo and egg for breakfast for Napoles while pork chop adobo for her lunch.
Napoles' dinner will consist of pork menudo, Sindac said.
