MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Permanent Representative to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) symbolically turned over the contribution grant amounting to $85,000 of the Philippine government to the ASEAN Foundation.
Ambassador Elizabeth Buensuceso turned over the Philippine contribution to ASEAN Foundation executive director Makarim Wibisono in a simple ceremony at the Permanent Mission of the Philippines to ASEAN in Jakarta last Sept. 20.
Buensuceso said that the contribution would be used to support the ASEAN Foundation’s initiatives that would help achieve ASEAN integration.
She stated that the Philippines is pleased to see the progress of the ASEAN Foundation and commended the executive director for his invaluable support in promoting ASEAN through regional and international platforms.
On behalf of the ASEAN Foundation, Wibisono conveyed the Foundation’s highest gratitude and appreciation to the Philippine government for its continued support to the ASEAN Foundation and its efforts to support the ASEAN community-building process.
Wibisono also noted that since 2010, the Philippine contribution to the ASEAN Foundation project funds amounted to $370,000.
