MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - A public school teacher was seized by six unidentified persons tonight in the city of Zamboanga, local police said.
Police chief inspector Ariel Tolorio Huesca, Region 9 Police Office spokesperson, identified the victim as Al Roxas, a teacher at Western Mindanao State University, Zamboanga City.
The suspects, who belong to kidnap-for-ransom group, allegedly wearing military uniform of Philippine Army and Philippine Marine kidnapped the victim at around 7:20 p.m. at Campo Islam village, Zamboanga city.
Huesca said the suspects, along with the victim, fled toward Basilan province area on board two red Jungkong, motorized pump boats.
The Zamboanga city police office is now conducting a thorough investigation on the incident, he said.
