Gov’t Watch lauds P-Noy for additional election budget

MANILA, Philippines - Gov’t Watch Chairman Raul Concepcion through the Secretary of the Cabinet Jose Rene Almendras expressed his utmost appreciation for the additional budget for the COMELEC.

Based on the published news report last Jan. 15 in the Philippine STAR, the Department of Budget and Management released P4.14 billion to COMELEC. This money is intended to support the preparations for the synchronized national and local elections in May 2013.

In Concepcion’s letter to Secretary Almendras, he heartily congratulated President Benigno Aquino for the approved additional budget of P4.14 billion which will help accomplish pre-election activities according to schedule and with utmost efficiency.

Concepcion also said “This is something every Filipino can look forward to in ensuring that we will have a clean, credible and honest midterm elections — the most meaningful legacy President Aquino could leave Filipinos when he steps down in 2016.” — GOV’T WATCH
