NBI agents fail to arrest Palparan
MANILA, Philippines - The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) failed to capture retired Maj. Gen. Jovito Palparan Jr. during an operation conducted by bureau agents in his house last Friday.
“We’re still looking for him. It’s negative in his house. His wife and children were there when we entered the house,” Pampanga NBI Regional Director Ric Diaz told The STAR yesterday.
Armed with an arrest warrant, the NBI operatives searched Palparan’s three-story home in Lakeview, Bagong Ilog, Pasig City.
His wife said she has not seen Palparan since Dec. 27.
Palparan is facing kidnapping and serious illegal detention charges for the abduction of University of the Philippines students Sherlyn Cadapan and Karen Empeño in 2006.
The NBI said they have intensified their manhunt operation against the fugitive ex-Army official.
