12 special holidays in September announced
MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang announced yesterday 12 special holidays for September in various provinces nationwide.
A special non-working day would be observed in Cotabato province on Sept. 1 to mark its 94th foundation day.
Sept. 3 would be a holiday in Iriga City in celebration of its 40th foundation day.
Sept. 4 marks the foundation day of the Municipality of Monkayo in Compostela Valley.
It is a special non-working day in General Santos City on Sept. 5 for its 40th Charter Day and for the tuna festival.
On Sept. 10, San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan marks its 8th Foundation Day.
Sept. 12 is the national pilgrimage to Lipa City, Batangas.
On Sept. 17, Los Baños in Laguna will be celebrating its Foundation Day.
Two special holidays in Mindanao fall on Sept.18 – Bislig in Surigao del Sur for its Charter Day and Zamboanga del Sur for its 56th Foundation Day.
In Malvar, Batangas, the 143rd birth anniversary of Gen. Miguel Malvar, the last general of the Philippine Revolution to surrender to the Americans, would be celebrated on Sept. 27.
Bacoor, Cavite marks its annual Araw ng Bacoor on Sept. 29.
On Sept.30, Masbate City will celebrate its cityhood anniversary. — Marvin Sy
