Local maids and construction workers are the most in demand among foreign employers compared to other Filipino workers, members of the local recruitment industry reported yesterday.
JS Contractor Inc., one of the country’s leading recruitment agencies, said maids and construction personnel continue to dominate the market for Filipino workers.
JS Contractor president Mary Jean Borra said local agencies have been getting numerous job orders for engineers and other construction personnel from traditional markets as well as new markets such as Australia, South Africa, Libya and Russia.
"With the job orders we have been getting, we expect household workers to be still the number one demand followed by engineers and other construction workers," she said.
Borra added that nurses and other medical workers — widely perceived as jobs for which there is the most demand abroad — are only third on the list. — Mayen Jaymalin
