MANILA, Philippines — Social media personality Xander Ford wanted to meet Kathryn Bernardo to ask for her forgiveness personally years after the leaked recording of him saying she's "sakang."
In his recent interview with Ogie Diaz, Xander admitted that the recording was a paid content.
“Actually du’n sa content na ‘yun, labag po sa kalooban ko ‘yun. Sabihin na natin na content, pang-content lang talaga, bayad ako,” he said.
“Actually po, nanghingi po ako ng sorry sa mga fans. Pero ‘yung isang pangarap ko po talaga na makaharap si Ate Kathryn ng personal, na makapaghingi ako ng sorry,” he added.
It can be recalled that veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez was moved into tears upon reading Kathryn's appreciation post to him.
In his Instagram account on Wednesday, Ronaldo said that Kathryn is now his forever 5th grandchild.
“Gracious, Kathie! Anu ba yan? Aga-aga pinaiyak mo ko, kainis ka! Everything u said, ryt back at ya!” he said.
“All those feelings, I feel for you as well. I think dis is a mutual admiration society. You will now n forever be my very much luvd 5th apo. Know that u will always be in my heart coz ur special to me. Hugz and 1M kisses, Mwa mwa Tsup tsups,” he added.
Kathryn penned a heartfelt open letter to Ronaldo, revealing that it was her dream to work with the veteran actor since she saw the film "Cedie."
"Fast forward to 2021, it seemed like God answered my prayer because you agreed to do this project with us. You probably have no idea how much it meant to me and how excited I was,” she said.
"I tried to get to know you day by day, cycle by cycle, then whoosh! We just clicked. I had no idea you were as matakaw and into sweets just like me! And ooops, pareho din tayo iyakin. Hahaha! God knows how much I enjoyed doing every scene with such brilliant and genuine actor like you, Tito Ron," she added.
Kathryn said that Ronaldo is such an inspiration in the industry.
"You show us who you really are behind the 'veteran actor' people know you as, and we just loved you even more. I didn't expect to be so close to you. Thank you, thank you.... I'm crying again (again) as I compose this message because I realize this is it..it's finally over," she said.
"As they always say, no goodbyes. The memories we shared for a year will always be in my heart. You know that I will always be here for you right? Kung makulit si Ali, mas makulit si Kath. I will always protect you and check on you (bec we always want what's best for you).
