After living together and having two kids (Arabella Simone nicknamed Beanie, born Sept. 23, 2017; and Augustus Geoffrey/Angus, June 15, 2019), Geoff Eigenmann and singer Maya Flores are set to make their union official. Initially, they thought of getting married in April this year…”Intimate lang,” said Geoff…but since not all members of the family (Geoff’s brother AJ is in the States) can be present, plans had to be changed.

Asked what kind of wedding it would be, Geoff told Funfare, “I’m not really one to have a church wedding. Feeling ko outdoors. Sa pattern naming magkakapatid, mukhang outdoors like a beach.”

Agreed Maya, “Beach ang favorite place namin.”

Added Geoff, “Or by a cliff. Basta, maganda `yung view, di mahirap puntahan. As of now, may nakikita na kaming choices.”

Funfare caught Geoff and Maya during an Aprica event (the brand that produces and distributes strollers.)

How did you meet at paano naging kayo?

Maya: We were under the same management before.

Geoff: Kaya naging kami.

Maya: But not instant. It took a while before he made the first move.

Geoff: I wasn’t focused on my career when we started dating kasi masyado akong enjoy. I kinda lay low from showbiz. Di okay sa management. But, at least that chapter is over. Masaya kami sa family and how my career is. She plans to go back to singing.

What made you fall in love with Maya?

Geoff: She is sobrang hardworking. Any struggle, she faces head on. Di siya papatalo. Now, with our family she’s very nurturing. Very hands-on with the kids. I can’t ask for anyone better to raise a family with.

And what made you fall in love with Geoff?

Maya: A for effort. Sobrang effort siya nung umpisa kahit naman ngayon. It’s really the small things that I appreciate. Very sweet, caring. He spoils me. Up to now, kinikilig pa ako actually. He’s older than I am so he’s like my life coach. In general, every aspect of life, natuturuan niya ako. Good `yun for me. Even when I am stubborn and I don’t listen, he goes on explaining things to me. I learn a lot from him.

How are you as parents?

Geoff: You gotta ask the kids that in 10 years.

Maya: First time namin, so kappa-kapa. We learn from our parents. We ask questions. Experience talaga.

Geoff: As long as we see our kids happy, I guess we are doing a good job.

Maya: We make sure that they grow up well-mannered at may respeto sa ibang tao. May compassion.

Geoff: Whatever comes our way, we stick together. As they get older, they will learn many things We train them to be open with us so when they grow up they won’t keep secrets from us.

How is Maya as a partner and a mother to your children?

Geoff: Very understanding. We are open with each other. Tanggap niya whatever kalokohan I did in the past. Past is past. Whatever we have going together sa amin na ‘yon. My outlook in life has changed, it’s different now.

Maya: Very hands-on siya, in fairness. He’s fond of kids. It’s natural with him. He has a way of softening your heart. Kahit inis na inis na ako sa kanya, sige na nga, love ko na siya ulit.
