‘Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral’ comes to Netflix in January

MANILA, Philippines — Another Filipino historical biopic “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral” is set to come to streaming giant, Netflix next month.

On Wednesday, Netflix announced that it will carry the film that features the hero of Tirad Pass, Gregorio “Goyo” del Pilar. It will be available for streaming starting Jan. 26, 2019.

The biopic which was released in the country in September this year will be known as “Goyo: The Boy General” for its international release.

Goyo, a sequel of historial biopic on “Heneral Luna,” is portrayed by Paulo Avelino.

“Heneral Luna” starring John Arcilla started streaming on Netflix last November 1 while Anne Curtis’s critically-acclaimed action film, "BuyBust" also began streaming on November 15.

On the same month, 2017 hit-rom-com set in Japan “Kita Kita,” starring Alessandra de Rossi and Empoy and comedy film starring Vice Ganda and Coco Martin “Beauty and the Bestie” also streamed on Netflix, along with other Star Cinema movies.

Goyo is directed by Jerrold Tarog and produced by TBA Studios, Artikulo Uno Productions, and Globe Studios.
