Who will be Miss Makati 2018?

The 16 official candidates of Miss Makati 2018 were presented to the media on Tuesday at St. Giles Hotel in Makati Ave., Makati City.

MANILA, Philippines — The 16 official Miss Makati 2018 candidates were presented to the members of the media during a special show held at the St. Giles Hotel in Makati City last Tuesday. The lovely ladies from different barangays will vie for the following titles: Miss Makatizen, Miss Makati Tourism and Miss Makati. Spearheading the pageant is Makati Mayor Mar-len Abigail Binay through the Museum and Cultural Affairs Office.

Founded in 1990, the Miss Makati pageant aims to promote women empowerment and at the same time, foster the city’s cultural and tourism programs. Titleholders will promote the city as a vibrant destination and immerse in various social development programs of the local government.

They are: Alexis Micaela Simbulan, Cristelle Unisa Laquian, Karla O’Hara, Dana Ashley Mayo, Cristine Allen Rada, Maria Kathleen Agulto, CJ Viray, Henna Santos, Clarice Gutierrez, Irina Cortez, Millen Cueto, Andrea Diangco, Fatima Thamara Loong, Maria Frencheska Nueva, Diana Rose Santos and Aya Frances Cruz.

Makati Vice Mayor Monique Lagdameo presented the candidates during the event. She also announced that the pageant is going to be swimsuit-free; instead the candidates will be judged in sports wear.

Miss Makati 2018 will receive P200,000; Miss Makatizen, P100,000; and Miss Makati Tourism, P150,000.

The coronation night will be held on June 9, 6 p.m. at the Globe Circuit Makati Event Grounds. Miss Makati is one of the featured events of the 348th Araw ng Makati, dubbed as Makati Makisalo.
