MANILA, Philippines - Manny Pacquiao has made international headlines, but this time not for his boxing.

American blogger and TV personality Perez Hilton commented on the Filipino boxer's comments against same sex marriage on his blog on Tuesday.

The athlete-turned-politician received criticism after he compared homosexuals to animals, saying, "Ngayon, kung lalaki sa lalaki o babae sa babae, mas masahol pa sa hayop ang tao."

The openly gay Perez featured Manny's anti-LGBT stance on his blog, calling it "horrific" and "barbaric."

"What?! Why do people have to compare homosexuality to animals?" Perez wrote.

He also said: "Look, if your religious beliefs prevent you from accepting same-sex marriage, that's on you. That's YOUR idea of propriety."

"But there's absolutely no call to demonize and denigrate gay people by comparing them to animals just because their love is something YOU'RE unable to accept."

Vice Ganda and Aiza Seguerra had earlier issue comments on the issue.
