Derek Ramsay: 'Kris is a good friend'

MANILA, Philippines – Derek Ramsay said Kris Aquino is a good friend as he clarifies speculations that he is dating the TV host-actress.

On Wednesday, March 2, Kris gave Derek a “shout out” on her official Instagram account, thanking the Kapatid star for being there for her to “lean on and count on.”

“THANK YOU because God must love me to give me someone like you to lean on & count on. Bahala na kayo sa interpretation but @ramsayderek11 deserves a shout out,” Kris posted.

This made netizen speculate that the two may be dating as Kris has admitted that she is currently seeing someone.

Asked to comment on speculations that he is currently Kris, Derek told  Philstar.com: “Kris is a dear friend to me and the family.”

In a column published in Pilipino Star Ngayon on Thursday, April 3, showbiz editor Salve Asis wrote that as per her source, there's no truth that Kris and Derek are dating.

“Totoong magkaibigan sila kasi nung election tumulong si Derek sa kampanya. Pero hindi talaga sila, although lately talagang close sila,” Asis quoted her source as to telling her.

Last week, Kris said she will remain mum on the identity of the man she is dating. 

“I can't pretend I haven't read your comments, questions & speculations about my relationship status & part of that is my fault for sharing so much of my heart in these posts, but I want what we have to work so forgive me for choosing to not reveal his identity,” she said on an Instagram post.

Previous reports say that Kris is dating a politician.
