Sharon shocked about Jinggoy’s tirade vs. Kiko; chooses to ignore bashers

MANILA, Philippines – Megastar Sharon Cuneta considers her new TV5 projects as a blessing, especially now that there are controversies surrounding her.

She’s starring in the daily sitcom “Madam Chairman,” which is her first TV series with the Kapatid network.

She also has a Sunday night musical talk show with Ogie Alcasid titled “The Mega and the Songwriter”.

It could be recalled that last week, Sharon defended her husband former Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan” from Sen. Jinggoy Estrada’s allegations regarding the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam.

In an interview Wednesday night, Oct. 2, Sharon said her husband told her not to mind the allegations made by senator Jinggoy.

“Alam mo there’s so much I want to say, but Kiko said, ‘Let’s not be distracted from the real issues,’” said Sharon. “Kasi hindi naman kami ang issue, di ba? It’s so easy to answer everything after dahil ito lang naman ang tanong, sino ang binigyan ng PDAF? Saan napunta ang PDAF? ‘Yon lang naman ‘yon.”

The Megastar understands her husband’s sentiments over the issue, yet, “Jinggoy is a closer friend. Ayaw ko i-past tense, pero nagulat ako. Mahal ko siya, hindi ‘to showbiz, eh, hindi ko kailangan... siguro kung hindi ka mahalaga sa akin hindi ako nag-react.”

She also insisted that they’re happy on their family’s status at the moment, and that “kung mayroon maarte sa lifestyle ako ‘yon, e, di ba? But I work hard for what I want.”

Ignoring the bashers

When it comes to her detractors over different social media sites, Sharon chooses to ignore them.

“I don’t read them anymore, you notice, since I came back to Twitter. Kasi why give energy to what they’re saying? What matters is the people that matter s to me,” she said.

“That’s all part of show business: mas magandang sinisiraan ka kaysa ikaw ang naninira,” she added

She also explained that what she did the last time shows how protective she is with her family, and that she was hurt about the accusations made against her husband.

“Masakit sa akin ‘yon kasi tatay ng mga anak ko ‘yon, e, alam ko ‘yong pagkatao [niya],” Sharon added. “So sa amin we decided, basta alam namin [ang totoo]. Kasi it doesn’t matter, kasi ‘yong detractors di ba, there will always be come up with something na ikade-destroy mo."
