Born Impact roars with the world’s big cats

MANILA, Philippines - Big cats refer to larger cat species that can be found in the wild such as the lion, puma and tiger.

Such big cats are not naturally found in the Philippines. The country has only two wildcat species, the Palawan and Visayas Leopard Cat. But some of the big cats get here because of the pet trade. Big cats are hot items as pets because they are regarded as symbol of power and wealth.

In Laguna, Doc Nielsen Donato treats a male puma that was turned over by an owner who cannot take care of it anymore. The puma suffers from a swollen testicle because of being unable to mate with a partner.

Meanwhile in Cebu, Doc Ferds Recio and a team of veterinarians need to do a check-up on the Bengal tiger which has damaged hind limbs.

Catch Born Impact today at 9:45 a.m. after AHA! on GMA 7.
