Elpasubat Festival in Taal April 26-28

MANILA, Philippines - It’s that time of year again when Taal’s colorful culture paints the streets of its glorious Heritage Town. The Taaleños present the Elpasubat Festival in celebration of their town’s 440th foundation year. The festivities will run from April 26 to 28 showcasing Taal’s tasteful culture and rich history.

The Elpasubat festival will kick off with a parade of colors, music and street dancing. Among the highlights are Ta-almusal, a breakfast time gathering of the Taaleños, their visitors and tourists where native delicacies of Taal will be served; Mamaraka sa Taal, a trade fair of Taal’s local products; Visitas de Las Casas, a tour around the houses and museums of the heritage town; the Gran Festival del Baile, a glamorous gala of music and dancing under the stars; culinary competition featuring Adobo sa Dilaw,a distinct Taal dish; embroidery competition that sees how Taaleñas embroider intricate designs with their bare hands; street painting and a lot more.

The Elpasubat festival is a project of Mayor Michael Montenegro, Vice Mayor Pong Mercado, Taal’s Sangguniang Bayan and the people of Taal. It is supported by Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto, Vice Gov. Mark Leviste, First District Rep. Tom Apacible and Taal’s adopted mother, Lily Monteverde, who just recently inaugurated her resort in Taal.
