GMA Pinoy TV holds Independence Day celebrations in Hong Kong and Singapore

MANILA, Philippines - GMA Pinoy TV commemorates the Philippine Independence Day by bringing Iza Calzado and Dennis Trillo to Hong Kong, and Dingdong Dantes and Rachelle Ann Go to Singapore.

Andres De Saya female lead Iza Calzado and Sinner or Saint actor Dennis Trillo began the celebrations yesterday with the Philippine Association of Hong Kong (PAHK), marking not only Independence Day but also its 50th Anniversary. The two milestones were marked by PAHK with a gala dinner and ball at the Conrad Hotel.

Iza and Dennis will bring entertainment today at the Charter Garden as the Philippine Independence Day Organizing Committee (PIDOC) hosts Lakbay Ng Kalayaan — a whole day celebration packed with cultural performances, exciting games and other surprises for Filipino workers in the area.

Meanwhile, award-winning Kapuso star Dingdong Dantes and Party Pilipinas mainstay Rachelle Ann Go will join the Grand Fiesta 2011, with the theme Pinoy, Malaya at Responsableng Bagong Bayani, at the Hong Lim Park in Singapore also today. To be led by the Pilipino Independence Day Council Singapore (PIDCS), the fiesta will feature a unique lunch-and-learn session — dubbed as Power Lunch — where distinguished Filipinos will share bite-sized insights with the Pinoy community. There will also be literary and photography contests during the day plus other cultural activities.

GMA Pinoy TV subscribers in Hong Kong and Singapore will also have the opportunity to meet and greet the Kapuso stars at the GMA Pinoy TV booths where treats and premium items await them.

“It is a unique opportunity for us to celebrate the Philippine Independence Day with our Kapuso viewers in other parts of the region through these events. We are thankful that these organizations have chosen to partner with us to make this historical day all the more unforgettable,” shares Joseph Francia, vice president and head of operations for GMA International.
